    Matt King-OLB/DE

For those of you who are interested on who this guy is.....

    Matt King DE Maine UDFA

    6'3" 242lbs. 4.75-40

    2006-07 Stats:

27 Solo tackles 33 Assists 18 Tackles for losses 11.5 Sacks 3 FF 2 FR

Overview: A solid IAA Defensive end who had a breakout year as a senior in 2006, being named first-team all-Atlantic 10, and finishing 6th in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award given annually to the nation's outstanding defensive player in Div. IAA. Turned down an opportunity to gain exposure in the East Coast Bowl. Did not receive a combine invitation. High-motor, edge rusher who showed the ability to really disrupt the opposition's backfield as a senior. Plays to the whistle. Displays a variety of pass-rushing moves. Will remind some of a poor man's Charle Haley.

Weaknesses: Only really did it for one year at a lower level of competition. Ability to transition to OLB is in question. Lacks size to stay at DE at the next level, and so must be viewed as a classic tweener. best shot is to add about 20 pounds of muscle mass and to try to be a 3rd-down pass-rushing specialist.

    Projection: High-grade UDFA.

If you donít stand behind our troops.....Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

This guy is just more training camp fodder. I would be shocked if he is part of the final 53. His best chances are if guys like Timmons continue to nurse their little injuries on the pup list.

Not impressed with Timmons at all. Has only practiced 1 day at TC after already missing all the OTA's. What might happen when they put his delicate *** in a real NFL game?

I know we released Church and picked this guy up, we'll probably be seeing a lot of these pickups especially at LB. He was with the Jets, so yeah like BG4vr said just practice meat unless he really impresses
