    Outside the huddle,,,,,,,,,

SMALL BEN : Big Ben says he will play at 240 range, down 15-20 lbs from his second season " I love this shape," he says.

ONE OF THE BEST: Since the merger, pittsburgh has the second-best record
in the NFL at 341-225-2 (.602). Only miami's .626 is better.

DON'T GO THERE: The steelers "D" has allowed only one runner to reach
    100 yds in the past 44 games--Edgerrib james,who ran for 124 yds
    in week #12 of 2005.

TWO FOR 200: Willie parker's 223 yds against the brownies last season set
a steelers record. His 213 against the saints made him the only steeler to post
two 200-yard games in a season or a career.

CITY BOY: Mike Tomlin is the 1st steelers head coach in more then 50 years
who will actually live within the city of pittsburgh. Walt Kiseling, who coached
the team in 1956,was the last one to pay taxes in steel town, according to
    Dan Rooney

HELPS ON THE WAY: Rookie Lawrence Timmons became only the 3rd LB
in steelers history drafted in the 1st round, and the Steelers drafted LB's
1-2 for the first time ever.

That's such an important stat, it means that we are doing our job on defense and making the opposing offense 1 dimensional the majority of the time.

However it's also misleading too because all to often the other team had 2 RB that posted good numbers and kept drives going which kept our defense on the field. Stopping the run is paramount so Im looking forward to getting back to that style of play this year.

I know right, they are kind of misleading considering the season we had last year almost makes you think we actually played well in 2006 !
