Coach Makes Racey Email Blunder
(KDKA) PITTSBURGH Veteran Steelers Line Coach Larry Zierlein made a computer age goof.
He inadvertently sent out an email containing pornographic material to some unintended recipients, including names listed on the NFL's general managers email distribution list, their secretaries and Commissioner Roger Goodell.
The story broke on the Web site ProFootballTalk.com, which reports Zierlein forwarded the email after her received it from Doug Whaley, the Steelers' personnel coordinator who got it from an outside source, according to our news partners at the Post-Gazette.
Zierlein was unsuccessful in trying to recall the message.
"When you write an email, you have to write it as if everybody's going to see it, as if it's like front page on the newspaper," Jay Armstrong, owner of Computer House Call, said.
His firm specializes in computer training and repair.
The PG reports the Steelers confirmed one of their employees was involved in sending the inappropriate email against both club and league policy.
The PG also quotes a Steelers source as saying the Steelers are not expected to take disciplinary action against the coach.
