Okay after watching the clip and if the rule is stated how Koopa said then I have to side with him. When Duncan stepped on the court there was no altercation. Now on the other incident it is a completely different story.

Usually when you think of an altercation you think, a fight, pushing, shoving, maybe even some fist throwing... There is the argument that Amare and Boris were was not triggered to leave the bench to join an altercation in this situation, because what happened on the court (Horry's hip-check of Nash) was not really an altercation. It all comes down to what is considered an altercation which will more than likely be defined this summer because as it stands now it's open to interpretation and not everyone sees the same thing.

The way I look at it. After the foul they started charging toward each other. Then there was some pushing and shoving.

Hadn't there just been a really hard foul and two players were staring eachother down when Duncan went on the court? Why did he go on the court anyway? Rules are rule, but there is a lot of room for interpretation. Some people are more equal than others in the NBA. Micheal Jordan never fouled out because it didn't serve the league to make that happen. There are rules against traveling but its obviously not enforced, at least for the guys with the big contracts.

It just seems wierd that the Suns get two guys kicked out for a game for steping over a line and not doing a single thing to escalate the situation and Horry gets only 2 for flagrantly going after a dude.
