Tomlin apparently thinks our OL at this point is fine. I would have liked us to get some OL depth in this draft too.
Smith, Faneca, Mahan, Okobi, Simmons, Starks, Kemoeatu, Essex, and Colon are apparently going to be his guys unless we go OL in the 5th round. Anyone at the OL past this is probably training camp fodder.
Lets Max Starks, Chris Kemoeatu, Trai Essex, Willie Colon and Marvin Phillip all have been drafted the last three drafts before this draft. Maybe Tomlin likes what he has and is willing to give these guys a chance. Thats why I'm not freaking out about the Oline just yet.
I think its a concern since the Steelers couldn't run the ball on the road and the line gave up 49 sacks. But who knows maybe some of these young guys turn the corner this year.
McBean is perfect for the three technique in the 4-3... It is the defensive tackle that usually plays cocked to the side with his shoulder in the gap. It is called the "three technique" because he lines up over the "three gap" on the outside shoulder of the gaurd. He usually tries to get in the gap and use his quickness to beat the gaurd one on one.
I'm liking this pick more and more too... He is gonna help the 4-3 looks they have in store for the future.
Plus, he can play outside in the 3-4...
"Give me a 6 pack, half hour of rest and lets go play them again....We can beat them."
"They say that when you're the champs, everybody will try to beat you. Well, I'm glad we're the champs, so bring 'em on, bring 'em all on. If we die, we ain't gonna die running. It's gonna be a fight."
