Will Jamarcus Russel be a success in Oakland ?
He's walking right smack into the middle of a trainwreck of an organization in the Raiders. It now comes down too how much Al Davis will surround Russel with the talent he needs to be successful or will he hang him out to dry and this new relationship goes south early on.
If I was Russel, I tell the Raiders to take a hike.

I like his chances more anyplace else but Oakland...
Oakland just seems like a death wish for a players career. Maybe Kiffin will change things now but with all the controversy with them in general, and now trying to stop Randy Moss that franchise is still a disaster.
I would rather go to the raiders than browns
as you have said his success (anyones success) will depend on surrounding him with some sort of talent, he can not do it himself.

In 3 years time he will probably be doing pretty darn good! Assuming he gets a supporting cast
I really like JaMarcus as a person... I've always got a good vibe from him. He seems like a really greatfull young man. Very soft spoken for a star quarterback going first overall. He seems like he has got a good head on his shoulders.
They just did a nice piece on him during the draft...
