Steelers sign backup DE Eason, look at 2 likely first-rounders

Just saw on NFLN that the Steelers signed Nick Eason/DE. Where did he come from? Anyone ever heard of him?

Career Notes: Intelligent lineman who graduated Clemson with a degree in sociology and two years of eligibility remaining... Ended his Clemson career with 153 tackles and fifteen sacks... Named All-ACC after his senior year at Clemson, where he played defensive tackle... Drafted in 2003 by Denver in the fourth round... Spent the spring of 2004 with the Scottish Claymore of NFL Europe... Unable to make the 53-man roster in 2004 and was released by Denver... Signed by the Browns to their practice squad about a month later and remained on the practice squad until moved to the active roster on 11/26/04... Made first NFL appearance for the Browns on 12/19/04... Made the Browns roster out of training camp in 2005 and appeared in all sixteen games... Finished the season with 25 tackles.

If he cant make it on the brownstains roster, i very seriously doubt he will stay on ours through the season. Here is the link to his player page at nfl.com, he does not like too impressive

From scout.com: After suffering an Achilles injury during training camp, he spent 2003 on injured reserve. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/395955

That's what I was thinking. If he does show some promise we could stick him on the PS.

Steelers.com reports the Pittsburgh Steelers signed free-agent DE Nick Eason (Browns) to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
