    BEARS HAVEN'T SIGNED CARTER

In an item posted earlier on Sunday night, ESPN.com reported that the Bears had signed former Steelers safety Tyrone Carter to a three-year deal.

But the folks in Bristol have since pulled a Tribune-Review, expunging from the story any reference to Carter.

A league source tells us that the Bears have not signed Carter, and that nothing is imminent.

If I'm not mistaken I swore I just saw on the ESPN Ticker that the Steelers........not the Bears resigned Carter to a 3 year deal???

Put it this way, the Post-Gazette hasn't reported anything yet. Until they do, I wouldn't consider it official.

Confirm that there is no confirmation

    * SteelCityInsider.com is trying to follow up on the source of this news. The Chicago Tribune cited ESPN as their source but ESPN is denying ever posting the story. Stay tuned........

Wow, imagine that, ESPN backing down from their claims of NFL news. It's not like that's ever happened before

He was a hard hitter and played well whenever counted upon.
His coverage skills left something to be desired but he prvoided crucialdepth.

I will miss him. He stepped up when others were injured and did a decent job.

recent update: Carter agreed to terms with the Steelers before the Bears. The Steelers believe Carter is theirs. More to come.
