    Ravens exodus continues

OWINGS MILLS -- Former Baltimore Ravens offensive guard Edwin Mulitalo has agreed in principle to a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions. An eight-year starter for the Ravens and one of the most popular players in team history, Mulitalo will be reunited with former Baltimore offensive line coach Jim Colletto.

Mulitalo, whom Baltimore cut to clear $2 million in salary cap space to make room for running back Willis McGahee, said he also considered the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons.

The Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings demonstrated interest in Mulitalo, but no visit ever occurred.

Mulitalo is recovering well from surgery on his right triceps tendon, which he tore Oct. 1 against the San Diego Chargers. Mulitalo, 32, played in a career-low four games last season and ended last season injured reserve.

"I have no regrets because I understand the business," said Mulitalo, who played next to All-Pro left tackle Jonathan Ogden for eight seasons after being drafted in the fourth round "I loved my time in Baltimore, and now it's time for me to find somewhere else to play. Baltimore will always be my home."

It's always good to see a team that dominated you last year having people jumping off like rats off a sinkin ship! And with Jonathon Ogden also contemplating retirement......they may have some issues this year. Adalius Thomas, Jamaal Lewis, maybe Ogden and now this guy too? It's all good.

They had their shot to win another Super Bowl this past year and choked.lol I knew the Ravens were over-rated and knew they were going to be one and done in the play-offs.

The Ratbirds have lost one of the best defensive players and two of their best Olineman when Ogden retires. They did upgrade their RB situation with Willis McGahee. He is a much improvement over the washed up Jamal Lewis. But with their losses on the Oline that will hurt McGahee's production. Plus McNair is another year older.

If the Steelers get their act right this year and if the Bengals can stay out of jail. Then I see the Ravens no better then third in the AFC North this upcoming year.
