Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports as late as Tuesday, Aug. 22, the Pittsburgh Steelers were trying to acquire RB T.J. Duckett. They were offering a fourth-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons for Duckett. Pittsburgh felt Duckett could be a back who would help the Steelers replace RB Jerome Bettis. Atlanta thought it could get more back than what the Steelers were offering and, in the end, the Falcons turned out to be right.

Sheds a whole new light on the status of Duce these days huh....

I would have really liked to have seen Duckett come to the Burgh. News does not look too good for Duce. Any chance we might look at acquiring another back besides TJ?

I agree with the rest of you, wishing we would have been able to get him. Atlanta was able to get more from the Skins and Broncos then we would give them so I guess they made the right move. We could have offered someone like Quincy Morgan and a 5th/6th rounder though and I bet we'd have got Duckett.

I was wondering why they didn't offer Morgan too. I think they would have possibly taken it. Plus losing Morgan wouldn't have hurt. We have a strong WR core.
