Linebacker Tully Banta-Cain visited with the Rams yesterday and may be a goner.
“They need a pass-rusher, that’s no secret,” said agent James Sims. “And (coach Jim) Haslett’s a hell of a defensive mind. He’d really be able to utilize Tully’s versatility to play in 4-3 and the 3-4. Plus, it’s a team that will contend.”
Banta-Cain has also heard from the Steelers, Ravens, 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Dolphins, Browns, Jets and Giants.
“It’s totally new to him,” Sims said. “I don’t think he’s engaging in it in the sense of taking too many trips. He wants to hone in on the best opportunity and match that with the financial package.”
