correct. they would take such a huge dead 2014 cap hit if they "officially" release him before June 1.
BUT
I believe they can release him sooner with a "designated after June 1" accounting trick. Didn't they do that with Colon last year? Now, they don't get the cap savings until after June 1, but they player can move on and the front office can show Worrilds they are commited to him.
