It is a need for the Steelers, but I am a little afraid of his recent knee surgery.

I do think we need to go defense in round 1 and I would be all for trading down and getting an additional pick, say in the top 75 or 80.

I am looking forward to these as well.

    Dennard.

No offense, why draft a guy and not use his talents accordingly???

He will be playing zone coverage and off the receiver. He is a man to man shutdown corner. DL will waste his talents.

Just go with Colvin/Fuller who fit the zone system and who are very solid themselves. CB in the 1st is a luxury pick in my opinion with out system of defense

OMD (DL) won't be here forever and maybe OMD is playing the schemes that best fit his CBs he currently has. Ryan Clark is gone, Pola has a year left, Ike is about 35, Will Allen he serviceable at best. Never been a fan of Will.I.am Gay, but he had a decent year. I wouldn't count on it being repeated.

Time to rebuild the secondary much like Noll did when he drafted Woodson, Delton Hall, and Thomas Everrett with 3 of his first 4 draft picks back in '84. Now I'm not saying we have to draft secondary in 3 of the first 4 rounds, but this is definitely an area of the team that needs addressed early this year. We can get a tall receiver in the mid-rounds, the draft is deep at WR this year. A. Brown was a 6th round pick and Wallace was a 3rd round pick. Unless Watkins somehow falls to #15, I don't take a WR in the first. Defense wins championships. Check out Seattle and the 49er defense tomorrow. Bronco's aren't to shabby either.

Ben was never fast. And if you want to know why there may be any speed difference, just take a look at a pic of Ben as a rookie and compare it to now. I am not saying he is fat, just thicker. The size of his beer can head alone is enough to add a tenth of a second to his 40 time.

Finally, NT is the position on the football field where speed is the least necessary. Remember, Nix would be drafted to replace a guy nicknamed "Big Snack." I do not believe straight line speed was a huge factor in his game either.
