    Roethlisberger versus other "elite" QBs

Imagine if one of the Manning brothers, or Tom Brady were given the same caliber team that the Steelers have currently given Roethlisberger. What would the reaction be?

You can argue how elite any of these quarterbacks are, but what you can't argue are facts, and the facts include, but are not limited to:

    1. Roethlisberger is a two time SB champion.
    2. His post season stats overall are much better than average.
    3. His regular season stats are among the greatest of all time.
    4. He's among the top paid quarterbacks in the league.

Given those facts, how does the Steelers organization justify surrounding a quarterback of that caliber with the current receivers and offensive line?

The receivers aren't the problem. You're acting like they've neglected the offensive line. They've drafted two 1st and two 2nds in very recent drafts. They've absolutely put a priority on protecting Ben. Pouncey is good but the injuries have been setbacks. Gilbert, DeCastro, and Adams haven't been given a fair shake. Adams and DeCastro have barely played at all and you seem ready to call them busts. It's their second year after their rookie years were destroyed but injuries. Let's give them some time, shall we?

So if other elite QBs in the league had Antonio Brown, Sander and Wheaton as their 1, 2 and 3 receivers, the general consensus would be that the receivers aren't a problem?

And at what point does a team admit the offensive line has not been fixed through the draft and dips into free agency?

I agree to a point. But the mistakes I have seen Gilbert make are not due to a lack of playing time. He has had alot of PT. And yet he is slothful, has horrible technique, ect. And what do we do in the meantime when your Franchise QB has made it clear, he does NOT like Todd Haley's offense ? What do you do with Sanders while this OL gets time to Gel ? I mean why keep him at all ? It's not like he is gonna make a difference for our future. And I think anyone really believing that Pittsburgh will give this guy the type of long term contract that he will want are Nuts. But he does have value as a trade chip. So why not get a chip for him now, and play someone like Moye who we CAN secure here now, get valuable field time and secure a draft pick for someone who AT BEST will garnish us maybe a 5th round draft pick compensation 2 years from now ?

I think if Bell shows some things, and once the in his prime right now Miller comesback, we have the talent to win. Only thing that is holding us back is that young OL. So the front office should have known this, and made a better attempt to keep some of the Vet O-Linemen that have played with Ben. And know defenses, and one another ? Players like Colon, and Legursky ?
If you stand pat with these young guys, by the time they're ready, we won't have Sanders. And Heath Miller will be getting worse, not better. Not to mention defensive Vets like Troy, and Ike, and maybe Clark will be gone/released due to Cap Issues.

Yes lol. Have you not seen how Tom Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees have made "dime a dozen" receivers look like All-Pros?

Tell me when Brady, Rodgers, Brees or either Manning ever had THREE receivers of equal caliber to the Steelers current receiving core. Don't name one "dime a dozen receiver" who was Brady's third receiver amongst Moss and Welker. Name an entire starting receiving core for one of those quarterbacks that was on par with Brown, Sanders and Wheaton.

Yes, the receivers ARE a problem. Brown is a #2, not a #1. Sanders is a #3, not a #2. Wheaton might be able to replace what Wallace brought the Steelers, but he hardly played on the offense against the Titans, if at all.

In regards to the offensive line, it might have pedigree, but it isn't proven. Those other QBs have lines that are PROVEN. Giving the offensive line "time to gel" doesn't cut it when your franchise QB gets sacked five times.

Have you also noticed that those teams have better receivers? You are BADLY overrating Brown and Sanders.

When you compare the way the Steelers have treated Ben to the way other teams treat their franchise QBs, it's not even close. The Steelers do not put Ben in a position to succeed.

Ben has 3 SB appearances to his credit...with 2 wins. That's putting talent around him. Also, the one things those other QB's have to make those WR look better is actual POCKET TIME! Not to mention they have offensive schemes that aren't Incompetent!!

We're obviously talking about SINCE the last SB when he at least had receivers. Stop going from thread to thread and speaking like a drunk at a bar interjecting into every conversation without any sense of context.
