Cap Roll Over and Steelers future Cap Space

By my calculations we have 5 million in available cap space... And I don't think we are going to spend it. The new CBA allows teams to roll over any unused cap space under the 121 million cap into the next year. The Steelers were only able to rollover about 750k from last year.

An extra 5 million, along with expiring contracts for Keisel, Clark, Hood, Sanders, Cotchery... along with some potential big cuts (Troy if this seasons goes anything like the previous 2).... will go a long way to retooling the roster.

Next year, I expect the typical once in a blue moon impact free agent signing (the Farrior, Clark, Hartings, type etc)... and the class of free agent TEs is juicy.

Hood can be had for sort of cheap. Sanders doubt it. DJ gone. Keisel and Clark one year. Worillds, Cotchery, Dwyer, Sylverster gone. Redman 2 years. Howling depends. Woods 3 years. Curtis Brown...see ya

If they gave ben a new deal, they could stretch out his cap hit and that would help a lot. I've been hoping for a FA signing for a while now. Not a mega deal, but someone like Farrior or Clark for the D. That would also help a lot.

I've heard different reports on the FAN that the Steelers would like to re-sign Ben to an extension after this season.
