    If Ben goes down

If Ben goes down I am glad say I think will be able to ride the ship of Gradkowski. He looks like an excellent backup that can still win games with a good team around him. Needless to say, after him the ship will sink.

I feel a lot better with Gradkowski than with Batch or Leftwich.

I agree that Bruce is better than what we had last year... But if Ben goes down, we're done.

Any team with a franchise QB is "done" if he suffers a long-term injury.

Grad's career numbers are terrible, worse than either Batch or Lefty. The only thing he brings is relative youth, although he has not even been that healthy either.

Too many people only remember one magical Sunday at Heinz for Oakland, an aberration in his career.

There are a couple of exceptions (e.g. Cousins in DC, whoever ends up being the backup in Philly will be competent) but the main thrust of your point is right on. There are not enough good quarterbacks to even start in this league, so the backup position is very wanting on almost every team.
