With the 20th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the New York Football Giants select:

AARON ROSS - CB - Texas

Ross should be able to step in and make an immediate impact for the Giants, atleast in their Nickle or Dime situations; if not right away in their base defense. He's got the ideal size and speed today's CB needs to hang with their opponent. His skills in the return game should also help make an immediate impact for the Giants.

In an ideal world Revis or Marshall Lynch would be the perfect fit for the Giants. Lynch mainly because of the loss of Tiki Barber to retirement leaves a void that must be filled. Revis would be the ideal pick here if he's available however Ross is also considered one of the better CB's in the nation but scouts question him because of his lack of starting experience since he was burried in the depth chart behind the likes of Michael Huff, Cedric Griffin, Nathan Vasher, Michael Griffin and Tarell Brown at Texas until last year when he came through in a big way and won the Thorpe award. He'll take some coaching to harness all the raw talent but he's got enough already to start making plays for the Giants and within time can be something really special.

    21. Denver Bronco's - Marcus Thomas DT, 6'2" 290 lbs, Florida

Reason - The Bronco's are actually IMO, in the position to take the best available player here, but what they really need is help in the secondary, Lynch and Bailey aren't getting any younger, and the tragic loss of Darrent Williams hurt them too. Seeing as all of the good DB's are taken at this point, I could really see them trading down, in this situation. Since we can't trade, I figure the next biggest need for them is on the D line. They have nothing but former Browns players for goods sake. Thomas can play outside or inside, b/c of his size and quickness, and he will dominate many O-lineman. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia just to show how dominant he is:

While he played for Gators during the 2006 football season, his dominant play clearly showed as he accumulated 26 tackles and 4 sacks in only 5 games. Prior to the game against LSU when he was on suspension, the Vegas Line was -1 in favor of LSU. After he was activated for the game, the Vegas Line was +3 in favor of Florida.
Bio - Well I think the quote above speaks for itself!

With the 22nd pick of the 2007 SA Mock Draft the Dallas Cowgirls select:

    Levi Brown OT Penn State

    HT: 6-5 WT: 328

Brown is a former defensive tackle who came over to the offensive side of the ball and has flourished. He possesses great strength and knows how to throw around his large frame. Defensively they are pretty solid but offensively, specifically along the offensive line, the Cowgirls leave a lot to be desired. Flozell Adams is getting older and the RT spot can still be upgraded. Levi Brown of Penn State had a solid career for the Nittany Lions, and is regarded as the second best OT prospect in the draft. The 6-5, 328-pound Brown is a solid blocker, specifically in the run game, where he helped pave the way for HB Tony Hunt as a senior. Not overly quick, Brown is athletic for a man his size and could fit in as a LT at the next level.

I was going to pick either Landry or Nelson but they are gone, the Cowgirls could use help along the DL but they need help on the offensive line a whole lot more.

If you donít stand behind our troops.....Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

With the 23rd pick in the 2007 SA Mock draft the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS select:
SIDNEY RICE WR - South Carolina
    Height: 6-4 | Weight: 202 | 40-Time: 4.45

Rice has great size and leaping ability. He can flat out take over games at times. He just needs to be coached up right and prove he wants to be a dominant WR. Plus Rice is very fast.

KC has lacked a true #1 wide receiver for the last decade or so. Sidney Rice is still raw and inexperienced but he's loaded with potential and even though he will likely fall to the latter part of round one due to his lack of top speed he could very well end up being a steal for someone because he is a phenomenal talent.

With the 24th pick in the 2007 SA Mock Draft the New England Patriots select

    Patrick Willis-LB/Ole Miss

Patrick Willis is an all around LB. He is very good against run as well as the pass. He is consistently around the ball. Is not an explosive blitzer but gets pressure through only strength, effort and hustle. Is fluid dropping into zone coverage. He also shows great instincts to read plays. Never stops chasing the ball.

Reason for the pick-The Pats LB core is getting up there. So there is a need to inject youth into the Pats LB core. Patrick Willis does that and with the 24th pick in the first it makes sense.

With the 25th pick in the 2007 SA Mock Draft the New York Jets select:

    Adam Carriker DE Nebraska

    Ht: 6-5 Wt: 295

Has outstanding size and a big frame...Has tremendous strength and is extremely powerful...Holds his ground and is exceptional against the run...Has a motor that never stops...Solid tackler...Instinctive and pursues well...Is technically sound and uses his hands well...Is versatile and could play a number of different roles and positions...Very productive...Tough guy and a hard worker with great intangibles.

Reason- Not sure, They could go in a lot of different directions. To early for most of the players that fit their needs. Carricker can play outside and inside.

With the 26th selection in the 2007 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select:

Michael Griffin - Safety - Texas
    Height: 6-0 - Weight: 205

The eagles would do well to choose a player like Griffin if he falls to them here. He's got the ideal size and speed todays Safeties need to play and be effective. He's a BIG hitter and a never end motor, just like Brian Dawkins. Griffin is also a standout special teamer who is adept at blocking kicks.

The eagles could go OLB, DB, or WR here really but I chose Griffin do to all his intangibles, natural ability, and multi faceted abilities in the the ST dept as well as safety. He can step in right away and make an impact. Any of the other positions could be a viable option for them but overall the team is pretty set and just needs some tweaking here and there depending on what happens with McNabb in the future.

    27. New Orleans Saints - Daymeion Hughes, CB, California

Reason - Well, they have all the help they need on offense, we might see an OL drafted here, or they will trade down. I honestly think they need help in their secondary. Before last week, I couldn't name one player on their D, the secondary is especially horrid. Fred Thomas is supposed to be their standout CB, which IMO, is worse than relying on Chad Scott and Dewayne Washington. Hughes is the 3rd highest rated CB in the draft by quite a few people, so I think he is a bargain here. Sean Payton will coach him up well.

Bio - Hughes started all 12 games in 2005 and recorded 62 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, five interceptions (one returned 41-yards for a touchdown), 12 pass breakups, and one blocked kick. Hughes has potential as a sub-package cover corner in the NFL, who also can contribute on special teams. He is an athletic defender with great experience and production playing in the Pac-10. He is having his best season as a senior in 2006, when he displayed improved technique, recognition skills and ball skills. 7 int for 2006 as of 10/31/06.

With the 28th pick in the 2007 SA mock draft the New England Patriots select

    Dwayne Bowe-WR/LSU

Bowe is tall and well built for a WR. Shows the strength and balance to keep his feet after hard hits. He can break tackles. Bowe also fights to the whistle and runs very good routes. He is also a willing a good blocker for a WR. He will win jump balls and will dominate in the red zone. Is willing and will catch passes over the middle. Only negatives drops the easy catch at times and doesn't have blazing speed. But can get deep but isn't a game breaker.

Reason for the pick-Last year the Pats picked speedster Chad Jackson in the 2nd round. Now they get their possession receiver and have a another target for Tom Brady. Even though the Pats WR's did suprise at times this year but at this point in the draft the Pats just can't pass up a chance to ungrade their WR core.

With the 29th pick of the 2007 SA Mock Draft the Baltimore Ratbirds select:

    Michael Bush RB Louisville
    Height: 6'3 Weight : 250 lbs.

Big, rugged, tough, athletic future feature back in the mold of an Eddie George or a Lawrence Dickerson. Has some outstanding lateral moves and agility for a guy of his dimensions. Runs downhill hard. Will run people over, powerful runner who moves the pile on contact. Has really concentrated on getting more YAC, and will carry tacklers. Can be deadly in the halfback option pass area, as he is a former top-drawer HS quarterback. Good hands. Improving blocker. Has rushed for 2,380 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per carry... ranks seventh in school history in rushing yards and second in touchdowns... has appeared in 35 games with 15 starts... has recorded nine 100-yard games and one 200-yard game.

It looks like the Ratbirds will be cutting ties with J. Lewis. M. Anderson is to old and they let Taylor get away last season. The backfield is more of a priority then even their QB situation right now. Even though Bush broke his leg in the first game last year @ Louisville, he should be fully recovered. He should impress at the combines. This RB is to good to pass up.
