Truth be told, to win you have to have a balanced attack. This keeps the opposing defenses honest.

How balanced were the 2008 Steelers? The 2011 Giants?

To win you have to score points. And to score big points you have to throw, and you have to have a defense that forces turnovers so you can get quick points without going 80 yards.

The 2008 Steelers ran the ball 46% of the time, 10th highest in the league in 2008. They threw the ball only 54% of the time (23rd in the league)

And in 2008, the Steelers were only 20th in scoring...

I know how much you dislike facts

Ironically, in 2008, the Arizona Cardinals led the league in passing (64%)....with Todd Haley calling the plays

yea, they unleashed Elway... behind the league's BEST running game

Bullshit. Denver always had runners with Elway. He had three different Pro Bowl running backs BEFORE Terrell Davis ever played in Denver.

The difference was, when Reeves was fired, Elway became the focal point.

Separate his numbers from 1983-1992, then take the last 6 seasons of his career 1993-1998.

What Elway wanted those last 6 seasons, Elway got. He was basically a GM wearing a helmet.

And the results showed in his production, and on the field.

He was so sickened by Dan Reeves' system he was going to retire if he wasn't fired.

The Broncos and Davis (with Elway) were ranked #1 in rushing one time, in 1996.

Didn't win a playoff game. One of the biggest playoff upsets of all time to a 2nd year team in Jacksonville.

    See?

The 1997 Broncos dropped three spots in rushing in one season, and they won the Super Bowl.

Why? Because they won that year the way we used to win with Ben when he began playing: Pass early, big plays, get leads, THEN run.

The 1997 Broncos were 20th in the league in passing attempts . But they were NINTH in YARDS (#4 in TD passes).

The 1998 Broncos were 21st in the league in passing attempts. But they were SEVENTH in YARDS (#5 in TD passes).

The 1996 one and done Broncos were 16th in pass attempts, and 13th in yards. So they actually ranked HIGHER in pass attempts, but LOWER in yards in 1996 compared to their 1997 and 1998 title teams.

What did they win that year (1996)?

    Nothing.

Big plays, vertical offenses, that wins championships.

Dink and dunk crap in Roger Goodell's no defense NFL? You won't win anything.

If this were true, Marino and Fouts would have Super Bowl rings for all their fingers. Collectively the 2 prolific passers aforementioned have = ZERO Super Bowl wins. Also, Jim Kelly has zero. Warren Moon has zero. Steve McNair has zero. Do I need to mention anymore?

A balanced attack and a strong defense wins championships.
