Last season's Champion's offense was so good they fired their OC, lost four of their last 5 regular season games, and limped into the playoffs.

Then they unloaded the deep ball in the post season and won 4 straight.

Btw, where were the 2011 Giants ranked in rushing?

That would be #32, in both yards, and MORE importantly, yards PER RUSH.

Where as the 2011 Steelers were #14 in yards, and MORE importantly, #11 in yards PER RUSH (The highest YPC in TEN YEARS) without the use of the tired traditions of the past.

2010 Packers? #24 in yards, and MORE importantly, #25 in yards PER RUSH.

Where as the 2010 Steelers were #11 in yards, and MORE importantly, #18 in yards PER RUSH without the use of the tired traditions of the past.

Deal with reality, the way things USED to be with the Steelers, is not conducive to winning games NOW!

Of course he did, because when you spread teams out and loosen the congestion at the LOS? Backs have more room to run.

Arians understood this. Out of touch morons and ownership do not.

Arians also understood how to make the worst situational play calls ever made. You always point out Haley's situational play calling yet defend Arians. It makes absolutely no sense. "3rd and 1 inside our own 15 yard line? 5 wide, empty set. That'll catch them off guard. No way our pathetic offensive line gives up a sack"... "3rd and 11, shotgun, draw play with Mewelde Moore. They'll never see it coming." "3rd and short, right about field goal range, I know... Let's do a sweep to the oldest, slowest RB on the roster (Mewelde Moore). No way it'll lose 5 yards, take us out of FG range and lead to a loss against KC Chiefs in OT."... 3rd and goal from the 2? Let's go shotgun and do a draw. Sure that's an extra 5 yards we'll have to go, but it'll catch the defense off guard."

His playbook was ok, but Arians' situational and redzone play calling was absolutely putrid. Why do you think they had most of their success when Ben was in the no huddle calling the plays himself?

Amazing those teams were able to win super bowls with the crippling affect of using a FB in a base running formation. What relevance did you think the firing of Cam Cameron had on the FB conversation? A good OC needs tools to use to scheme for opponents. A good OC can put a FB on the bench when spreading a defense out is the RIGHT way to attack them. But that's not always the case.

% of Offensive Snaps in the Super Bowl
    Bruce Miller 47%
    Vonta Leach 44%

% of offensive snaps in reg season
Leach played 42% of snaps all season
Kuhn played 34% of snaps all season
    Will Johnson 34%
    BMiller played 45%
    Hynoski played 42%

The power house Green Bay offense has traditional FB on the field 34% of the time (8th most usage of a traditional FB in the NFL). It's not just about a running game. A FB keeps LBers in the box, opens up zones and passing lanes for the passing game.

Hardly ever. Most of BA's empty sets were on SECOND down, because he would use the 3rd down back as the blocker on 3rd down.

I know that if we waste time with 2-3 TE sets this team won't win 8 games.

Three wide base, nail the backup TEs and Will Johnson to the bench.

If not? Trade Ben and move on.

Absolutely. The run games for those teams sucked. The fact that you tried to give them credit is exactly whats wrong with this fan base: Out of touch pole smoking idiots who would rather lose games playing the old way, than winning championships playing the modern way.

As usual, you missed the point. There is no need to argue whether their "run games...sucked." The fact is, the teams mentioned WON championships "playing the old way," with a FB.
