    Al Woods

    This should make ktrain happy:

Defensive end Al Woods reportedly received work at nose tackle during the first week of OTA's and the speculation is that he actually ran with the second team ahead of both Alameda Ta'amu and Hebron Fangupo.

He is like Dwyers, get your self in shape and play... he should be the starter, but he needs to kick it in gear.. look at his track record... he is just lazy...

that is not true at all....apples and oranges. Woods is insanely athletic for a guy that size, its not the physical shape hes in...hes very big, strong, and agile for a 6-4 310 pound player...he was always so raw as a dlineman though. He was on the bench at LSU because of guys like Doresy, RJF, Tyson Jackson. And he was drafted by the saints in the 4th round because of insane measurables, and those measurables are why we picked him up. Hes an excellent athlete and its not being fat or lazy, it was just he was so raw in technique and our dline coach HATES raw players. So it is time to show up or leave for him, its completely different circumstances

    Saints Notes:

When we traded up to take him in the 4th I thought it had bust pick written all over it. Woods was satisfied with whatever little signing bonus he got as a 4th round pick and had no plans or desire to put in extra work to get better. He should have never been drafted by the Saints. He never was our kind of player, he lacked upper body strength, he was lazy, he is done.

he was a very poor fit there. I am so glad we picked him up and that hes getting some reps to see if he can be a player
