Batch: big picture Jones to replace Ben in 2 years.

I don't know what is making Charlie think this is the case.

First of all, Jones isn't that good. He isn't a starting caliber NFL QB from anything that I have seen.

Skip Bayless, who loves OK, said that he has seen plenty enough of Jones to know he will never be a starting caliber NFL QB.

When Jones was on a team with superior talent, he put up some big #s. But like many QBs in that situation, if he didn't have the superior talent, he was below average. I don't see a guy like that becoming a good NFL QB.

Charlie may be right that in 2 years, Pgh will need another QB (as Ben could be just tattered by them or worth more than what Pgh is willing to pay) but Jones won't be who it ends up being.

Jones is simply there to provide a back up that isn't 40 years old. I doubt he will ever develop into anything more than that.

They're acting like Ben is 38 and not 31. Ben's replacement is in some high school currently in 9th or 10th grade.

Are you sure with how much Ben gets beat up ... He isn't Tom Brady or Peyton ... Ben takes punishment , and with so many injuries piling up

I'm not saying yes or no ... But I don't think Ben plays until his late 30s

Peyton and Brady have missed more games due to injury than Ben has since 2004.

Call it hope or faith, but I believe that he will play at least 6 more years.

The line has to come together at some point and any type of running game will help reduce the weight on Ben's shoulders to continually improvise. Not saying we need to go back to the 70's but definitely have a complimentary running game that defenses have to respect. Hopefully as Ben gets older, he gets a little smarter and uses the sideline and incomplete pass as his friend.

Peyton and Brady would both be dead if they played behind Ben's O-line for the same amount of years Ben has.

Unless the philosophy on offense changes Ben will not retire a Steeler.

They can't pay him to be Trent Dilfer, and Ben won't want to play his final seasons in that role.
