5 of the 12 playoff teams did not have 1st round picks as their starting qb.

That doesn't make them Franchise QB's.......If you want to throw meaningless stats lets look at past Super Bowl Winners.....Or better yet lets look at the Steeler track record......Bradshaw(1st Rd pick) 4 SB's......BR7(1st rd pick) 2 SB's(and counting)......the other 70 years......0 Super Bowls.......I am sure you will finally get my point.......

Tom Brady, 6th round pick. Been to 5 Super Bowls, won three of them.
Joe Montana, 6th round pick. Been to 4 Super Bowls, won all of them.
The Steeler way...is the only way.

Mark Rypien....Curt Warner....give me a break....I guess you consider Trent Dilfer, ect ect to be Franchise as well.....I agree those other guys were franchise qb but they are the exception to the rule....btw those guys you named combined won 11 SB's........You may as well add Doug Williams to the group......

they were 6th round picks for a reason though....brady was horrible at michigan. He went to a very QB friendly system and really grew into his arm.

You dont just pick up QBs off the street as a general rule, otherwise the steelers would have been fine between bradshaw and roethlisberger

11 super bowls is like 25 percent of them. Thats no small percentage. You just said you don't find franchise qb's in any round other than 1 and I am saying you can. Lets not even talk abt how that mentality has caused lots of busts.
