    Steelers re-sign Ramon Foster

The Steelers and offensive guard Ramon Foster have come to terms on a three-year deal, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday.

The 27-year-old Foster has started 42 games for Pittsburgh in four seasons, including all 16 games in 2012. He started the first 13 games at right guard before moving to left guard when David DeCastro returned to action late in the season.

At the very least, Foster’s return would strengthen the Steelers’ guard depth. That said, it will be interesting to see how the Steelers proceed with Willie Colon, who is slated to make $5.5 million in salary in 2013, per Rotoworld. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette previously reported that Colon’s agent, Joe Linta, hadn’t been informed of any plans to cut Colon’s compensation. While Colon showed promise at left guard in 2012, a knee injury ended his campaign, and he has missed 36 games because of injury in the last three seasons.

I thought the new Oline coach wanted athletic players? If this is the way the offseason is going to go this team won't be any better then they were last year.

    Steelers re-sign Ramon Foster

What's wrong with Foster? He was fine, hardly seen flags thrown his way I think he quietly had a good year!

I like this signing, assuming its not a lot of money. Foster is pretty good, not elite but solid. It gives us leverage with Colon and gives us options for depth if Colon stays.

agreed...foster is always a back-up and gets plenty of starts due to injuries. he plays all over the line and does a decent job. he's a very good OL guy to have for depth on the roster.
"Today, I'm officially retiring a Pittsburgh Steeler. And as much as I will miss football, my teammates, coaches and everything about the game, I don't want to play it in any other uniform. The black and gold runs deep in me, and I will remain a Steeler for life."--Hines Ward
