These articles could also be bullshit and manipulated. Is this women who claimed to be the real face credible? His girlfriend also used that as her professional name thats why technically that name isn't in the records. Te'o could be really embarassed to be in a love with an online girlfriend so he stretched the truth... doesn't mean he can't feel love or heartbreak over it. Some people spread lies and make conspiracy theories to be cool and get noticed on reddit. Roswell was a conspiracy. This is some kid making **** up about a linebacker who didn't want to admit the girlfriend he loved he was online. It's so easy nowadays to make a conspiracy because nobody is going to look into it they're gonna believe what they read and a lot of it is false information.
