What's sad is Haley opened up the offense MORE with backup QBs than he did with Ben.

Why? You'd have to ask him.

Me? It's because they wanted to keep Ben upright so they can trade him.

Who threw that pass in the dirt? Ben
Who didn't deliver the ball and scrambled on 3rd down, coming up short? Ben
Was one of those runs for 14 yards? Yes

Who called two run plays on our only two 1st down red zone plays all day?

    Haley.
Did one of those run plays come after a 20 yard scamper? Yes
What did Ben do on 2nd and 3rd down in those red zone situations? Nothing
Who failed on 3rd down and goal leading to the missed FG? Ben
Who got sacked pushing them back? Ben

Who called a 3rd and 2 FADE PATTERN with Byron ****ing Leftwich in the red zone?

    Haley.
What's wrong with that call? I'll take a single coverage fade pattern over a lot of other options in that situation.

    If Haley stays, Ben won't.
This is a comical position. About NYC agrees. You *** handers are always on the same page.

Keep talking. And then when he goes you'll see.

Ben's not going to let Rooney waste the last 4 years of his career with his 1975 offense.

I wish Druckenmiller would have bought them out.

    What's wrong with that call?
Let's see, a difficult touch pass with the QB on the roster that lacks any.

    Real smooth call.

You'll see back ups given that play call, in that situation, all the time. It's a relatively safe pass. The read can be made pre-snap (single coverage), the route has a low turnover rate. It's not a difficult pass.

    That's a really dumb criticism.

It doesn't go unnoticed when you ignore all the other comments.

I think it's unfair to criticize Haley after such a short time. These things don't turn over night. Especially when one of your top WRs misses all of training camp doesn't learn the offense with the rest of the team. The OL has been one big pile of injuries and the RB situation is a disaster.

In the first part of the season, Ben was having an excellent year, potential MVP candidate. You cannot just dismiss the impact of the OC on that. It was clear to me that he was working on making Wallace a more complete receiver, instead of the guy who runs the fly or the post every play. There was some progress, but Wallace didn't have a great year hanging on to the ball. And Heath had his best year since 2009.

Haley had to work with what they had. Now he'll be able to work with Tomlin and Colbert to identify players that fit his system better and they could work on drafting them. At the end of next year, we'll have a better idea where this is all going.

Because he was making up for absolute **** playing calling with stellar play on 3rd down.

That all changed when he came back. Haley did NOTHING to make it easier and ease him in.

His answer for everything is run up the middle.

We'll see. Arians (Or Cowher) get a job in the NFC? All bets are off.

Your hatred of Haley is making you irrational.

    Oh yeah?

Dalton picked off to start the 2nd half, FINALLY a drive to start on the other side of the 50 via turnover.

    1st and 10 at CIN 32 J.Dwyer left guard to CIN 28 for 4 yards (R.Maualuga).
    2nd and 6 at CIN 28 J.Dwyer left guard to CIN 29 for -1 yards (M.Johnson, D.Peko).
3rd and 7 at CIN 29 (Shotgun) B.Roethlisberger sacked at CIN 37 for -8 yards (sack split by C.Dunlap and G.Atkins).
    ________________________

Two runs, one pass. No attacking the defense.

Next drive from the Steelers 33:

Ben hits Miller for 22, Wallace for 13 on 2nd and 7, then a stupid Wallace reverse for -1 yard, and then Ben hits a 6 yarder on second down and then a 13 yard pass to Sanders.

NOW Haley no choice to attack and keep Ben going right?

WRONG! Dwyer comes in, and because we're the Stillers, looses 3 yards from the 11.

Ben is then sacked, we have one down left, what do we do?

A failed RB SCREEN PASS to Chris Rainey, and we kick a FG.

    3:18 left in the game

1st and 10 at PIT 46 B.Roethlisberger pass incomplete short left to A.Brown.
2nd and 10 at PIT 46 R.Mendenhall right end pushed ob at CIN 42 for 12 yards (V.Burfict).
    1st and 10 at CIN 42 R.Mendenhall up the middle to CIN 38 for 4 yards (C.Dunlap).
2nd and 6 at CIN 38 R.Mendenhall left guard to CIN 40 for -2 yards (C.Crocker). PIT-H.Miller was injured during the play.
    3rd and 8 at CIN 40 (Shotgun) B.Roethlisberger scrambles right guard to CIN 36 for 4 yards (C.Dunlap, G.Atkins).
Timeout #2 by CIN at 01:51.
4th and 4 at CIN 36 (Field Goal formation) S.Suisham 53 yard field goal is No Good, Short, Center-G.Warren, Holder-D.Butler.
    _______________________

A WR screen (again), 3 straight Mendy (coming off a benching and suspension) runs, a Ben scramble. Missed FG. Again we don't attack the defense.

Last week in Dallas, we tie the game at the half, we force a 3 and out on defense and Brown returns the punt to midfield to start the second half, a perfect chance to attack and seize momentum right?

    1st and 10 at 50 J.Dwyer right guard to DAL 46 for 4 yards (D.Connor).
    2nd and 6 at DAL 46 J.Dwyer up the middle to DAL 45 for 1 yard (A.Spencer; D.McCray).
3rd and 5 at DAL 45 B.Roethlisberger pass incomplete short right to J.Dwyer. Pass incomplete in the flat.

Again, two runs, 1 pass attempt (which was short of the sticks if complete), punt.

7 minutes left in the Cowboys game, a chance to take the lead after Browns fumble, offense moving the ball at will having scored TDs on their last two drives. Ben hits Wallace for 11 yards, then hits Will Johnson with a touch pass down the right sideline. Passing, moving the chains, making plays, we get first down at the Dallas 43.

1st and 10 at DAL 43 (Shotgun) B.Roethlisberger pass short right to A.Brown to DAL 40 for 3 yards (B.Carr). Pass complete on a "bubble screen."
    2nd and 7 at DAL 40 (Shotgun) J.Dwyer right tackle to DAL 37 for 3 yards (A.Albright, A.Spencer).
3rd and 4 at DAL 37 (Shotgun) B.Roethlisberger sacked at DAL 39 for -2 yards (sack split by D.Ware and A.Spencer).
    _______________________

Another WR screen (similar spot on the field against Cincy a week later), a run, and then a sack with no check downs as Miller AND Redman were blocking.

    We never got close again.

Why won't we attack a defense? Why do we insist on playing Bill Cowher simpleton loser football?

Do the Rooney's detest Roethlisberger getting accolades THAT much to the point that they sabotage their own team?

Or is Haley THAT incompetent as a play-caller?

Now be honest, if Arians was here calling this ****, what would be said? Why should Haley get a free pass? Because he's from Pittsburgh? BFD.

This organization's ownership needs to make a decision. They can either compete for championships by playing to the current state of the NFL and say to hell with tradition, or they can wallow in mediocrity as long as they wish to run the football when they can't run because Rocky and Franco did it 40 years ago.

If it's option A? Haley has to go (Or Rooney can stay out of his way and not have him as an *** kissing puppet).

If it's option B? Ben has to go.

Because this can't continue as is. Not fair to the team, not fair to the entire offense, and not fair to the HOF-er at QB.

Interesting to see what happens when Arians gets his new job.
