Thank God for Hockey and Motorcycle Racing.
He is doing this shit only because he can. He doesn't even know what the results will be. Kinda like the elected officials in any government entity.

This will have roster implications I would think. Some guys are special teams specialists and will be out of work. And how will this affect the college level? Will they get rid of kickoffs?
Next they will be hanging tires from the goalposts and throwing footballs through them for points. The league is turning into a Japanese game show.
Goodell is wrong (as usual) on so many levels and completely misses the mark. The "most dangerous play" is not the kickoff, hitting a defenseless receiver, etc. It is using your head as a projectile to tackle. When I played as a kid, it was called spearing and illegal. We were taught to run through the ball carrier using your shoulder and with the head to the side. 80% of the problem is solved and it does not change the traditional rules of the game. In fact, it would be a return to them.
"If I could start my life all over again, I would be a professional football player, and you damn well better believe I would be a Pittsburgh Steeler." -Jack Lambert
While the concept seems intriguing, what it does is reduces football even more. Take away the kickoff and then what's next? How does the game start? Winner of the coin toss now goes out on the field to punt or go for it on 4th and 15? This is dumb.
The saints opened up the second half of their SB with an on side kick that worked and helped them propel on to victory.
How bout this, make all players wear a mouth piece all the time. If you don't have it, it's a penalty. Start with that before you make some dumbass idea to avoid a kick off!
"Today, I'm officially retiring a Pittsburgh Steeler. And as much as I will miss football, my teammates, coaches and everything about the game, I don't want to play it in any other uniform. The black and gold runs deep in me, and I will remain a Steeler for life."--Hines Ward
What's next? Flags on the waist you pull off or 2-hand touch?
