The past 2 weeks have exposed a major chink in the
Steeler armor: lack of a competent back-up at the QB slot. What Leftwich and Batch were capable of doing a couple of years ago--winning an occasional game in the pinch--seems like a task which is now too much for them. Failing to develop a younger, more capable back-up for Ben has been a very costly failure on the part of the Steeler braintrust. Sadly, it may be fatal as far as this season goes.
