Justin Tuck: Steelers get away with murder

For the second time in three weeks, a member of the Giants is saying an upcoming opponent gets away with murder.

Before the Giants played the 49ers, New York offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said San Francisco defensive end Justin Smith gets away with murder. And now Giants defensive end Justin Tuck is saying the same thing about Sunday’s opponents, the Steelers.

“I hope we get some holding calls because they have gotten away with murder,” Tuck told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols. “They’ve done a very good job protecting Ben — they don’t hold on every play. But we’ve seen a whole lot of it.”

It’s probably safe to say Steelers coach Mike Tomlin won’t respond quite as harshly as 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh did to the previous “getting away with murder” accusation. But the Steelers’ offensive linemen may have something to say to Tuck on Sunday.

I'm sure he's blaming his lack of sacks on holding to anyone that will listen to him. Just STFU and play the game. Everybody holds, everybody gets away with it, just shut up and play.

I agree but to be fair we (and our team) do the same thing. I have been hearing for years that Harrison is held "on every play." I just hope Tuck ends up motivating our OL.

I'm tired of players and teams complaining about holding. Every single play a referree could call holding, its that close. Everybody gets away with holding, its just a fact of the game. Tuck is just saying it to get under the Steelers skin and I hope it works against him. If anything, this should rally the O-Line to play the game of their lives on Sunday.

Steelers get away with murder? Oh that silly Justin Tuck! Give him a break though. Since he plays for an NFC team he probably isn't too familiar with the AFC teams. Someone just needs to tell him Ray Lewis plays for the Ravens.
