Guys, what's up. A penalty on nearly every kick-off and punt. The wealth was spread from Sylvester, Batch, and van Dyke. I think collectively you wiped out over 100 return yards.
Let's get it together guys!

Van Dyke was brought on partly because of his special teams abilities but he's been flagged multiple times this year for illegal blocks or holding. The entire unit has taken a step back since Al Everest was let go in training camp. Now Amos Jones and Mike Tomlin have taken over and it's gotten progressively worse.
I get that it's not uncommon to have an illegal block on returns, but damn, AB had probably 100 yds or more in return yards called back last night.
Don't forget Van Dyke also had a fumble cause in the first game on special teams ...
they just had a bad game ... hopefully it don't turn into a trend
It's the coverages that has me the most concerned, penalties are a close second. Either way, gotta get it together.
Overall penalties this year are just crazy. This team has its head up its own a**.

Silly stuff! AB is doing his part! They'll get it fixed!

I gotta say Van Dyke has been solid on special teams .I feel bad for Rainey he returns it to at least the 30-40 almost everytime only to be called back . when they show the replays they call alot of ticky tack shit
There is no denying the ST unit needs some serious work, it doesn't matter if the penalties are up league wide or not this team still has to do it's part to help the offense with field position. Rainey and AB are both great returners but it's all for nothing with the penalties. It's just like Polamalu, you can be the best in the world but if you're not on the field it doesn't matter. ST the same way, great returners don't matter when you screw up your assignments in blocking.
STs was better in the 2nd half... if not for turnovers, penalties and dropped balls we woulda beat cinci by at least 30
