The Positives: Big Ben with a big day

This game was flat out terrible, there's no two ways about it. The defense was epically bad in the 2nd half, but there some good things through the first 3 quarters.

Ben was 36/49 384 yds, 4 TD's, no Int's and he was only sacked once.
10 different receivers caught passes again in the first half alone.

When push came to shove late in the game, the run game failed again but Ben was on fire most of the day. He was his usual self extending plays, converting 3rd downs and really is taking his game to a new level this year. Credit Haley or Ben, or both but our QB is a highlight film every week now.

    Wallace - 8/123 yds 1 TD
    Brown - 7/87 yds 1 TD
    Heath Miller - 8/60 2 TD's

Still beyond pissed off at this loss but at least our QB is having a good year.

Individual stats mean nothing to me. Yes I have both heath and ben on my fantasy team. But a loss is a loss. The reason ben had such a great day because we could not run the ball.
    Cleveland Browns suck!

Its a shame to waste Ben in his prime and watch he will go on to have one his best seasons ever but it will be wasted.......Really Ben could have a case for early MVP talk if the Steelers were 2-1 or 3-0............

Individual stats make a difference when they belong to the quarterback or running back because it means something important is working on the team. And since the quarterback is the most difficult position to find, having Roethlisberger playing at his best, even in a loss, means the hard part is out of the way. The offense looks great. It's a start.

    From Ken Laird

Ben Roethlisberger finished 36 of 49 passing for 384 yards, 4 TD, and a passer rating of 123.2 in the 34-31 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Those 49 passing attempts are the third-most of Roethlisberger’s career (1 shy of the 50 he threw against New England last season, and 5 shy of the 54 thrown against Denver in 2006).

The 384-yards passing are the seventh-most passing yards of his career (ninth-most in team history).

It was the 21st 300-yard passing game of Ben’s career in the regular season, as well as the 5th 4-TD game of his career.

Roethlisberger completed at least one pass to 10 of the 12 active receivers on the Steelers offense for the second consecutive week.

*Some of these numbers provided by the Pittsburgh Steelers official postgame notes.*

Why is Ben audibling all the time? Does he think he's Peyton Manning? Poor clock management at times.

Really still complaints about Big Ben?....lol What else can the man do?.....Just ridiculous........31 points were put on the board today and Ben was nearly flawless so that should have been more then enough against a bad Raiders team........
