More seats are coming to our beloved Heinz Field for next season, and another scoreboard too. I would hope though that they add it to the north end of the stadium!

The Pittsburgh Steelers plan to add a second video scoreboard to Heinz Field as part of a $35 million plan to add 3,000 seats to the 11-year-old stadium.

Mark Hart, the team's director of planning and development, told Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE that the team hopes to add seats under the scoreboard at the open, or south, end of the stadium in time for the 2013-14 season.

If that happens, those fans would have to turn around to see the video scoreboard unless another is added at the north end of the stadium for them to view.

Hart said the new scoreboard would be "a relatively minor cost component of the whole project," which the team expects will cost $30 million to $35 million.

The stadium now has 65,050 seats. - WPXI
