    Bruce Arians Gets Pass Happy!

It's nice to see Bruce Arians getting pass-happy for another team for a change.
Arians called 45 Attempts for his rookie QB, while only calling 13 runs.

The results were as predictable as any Bruce Arians Offense.
The game was lost, and the QB played poorly, throwing 3 INT's and posting a 52.91 Passer Rating.

The only rookie QB who did well on opening day was RG3.
RG3 was the only rookie with a running game.
RG3 had fewer attempts than any other rookie QB on opening day.
RG3 was the only rookie QB to win on opening day.
RG3 was the only rookie QB to not throw an interception.

Luck, Tannehill, and Weeden collectively threw 10 INT's!

The Cleveland Browns started their 17th new QB since their return to Cleveland.
Weeden played poorly posting a 05.12 Passer Rating.

Tannehill played poorly as well in Miami's loss to Houston, posting a 39.00 Passer Rating.

It's how Bruce is, he wants to air it regardless of what he has or doesn't have at his disposal.

RGIII looked pretty good for his first game, but man Weedon was terrible. As if we expected anything less.

    Bruce Arians Gets Pass Happy!

I actually think Luck played a decent game. He was very sound technique-wise, and he did not seem too rattled. His o-Line did not give him much help, nor did the wrs. Add to that, the Bears defense had an amazing game.
However much you think you know about football, rest assured that Skip Bayless knows more!

. . . . or what the opponent brings to the table as well.

You may recall Nov-28-2010, PIT at BUF where Arians got pass-happy against the Buffalo Bills who were #32 against the run. Arians called 39 passing plays (33 ATT - 1 Scramble - 5 Sacks - 0 TD's)

PIT scored 19 points in that game with 12 of those points being Field Goals and managed to barely win in OT.

I was tearing my hair out over that one!

Luck is as sound a rookie QB as you'll ever find. He's still going to have his growing pains though, as will RGIII. Weedon is already having is. BA wants to pass it above all costs even if he says he wants to run.

Balance, Balance, Balance, is what I'm looking for from us this year. Not just balance with the amount of times you run or pass but balance in the effectiveness of both.

Russell Wilson played a 'decent' game. He managed it fairly well and actually put Seattle in position to win the game, but his WRs couldn't hold on to the ball.

I think Luck will be just fine but I wish he had another OC to work with.

RG3, Luck and Wilson will be the best out of the 5 rookies who started yesterday.
