What do you see for Troy this year?

I wonder if Troy will still the pure free-lance guy he has been in the past? I think that lost some effectiveness last year and he got exposed bad several times. It has to be tough for the other 10 defensive players when "the scheme" has to use 10 against 11 and Troy is off doing something else.

Do you expect a change in how Troy fits in the D this year? If so, what?

He's been getting exposed a few times a season since he was given free reign on defense. I don't see it changing.

Troy said earlier this offseason that he is going to play a more traditional safety role this year at times. There wasn't a real big deal made about it then because Wallace was still holding out and other things seemed to over shadow the normal quiet offseason that Polamalu has.


Now how long that lasts or how much he actually plays less of a free lancing role is anybody's guess.

To be honest, he doesn't need to play a traditional safety role in many games this year, but against Peyton Manning, I'm thinking that I'd prefer that he did.

I think it will depend on Clark and Lewis and maybe Taylor. If they are pretty good in coverage, he can roam around. But if they are not healthy or not getting the job done, I think he will be forced to play a traditional role. I think he needs to move around and get into a QB's head regardless of what he is doing on that play. Troy needs to play mind games with opposing QB's, especially the younger ones.

When Troy was last hurt I believe LT did alot of the moving around and "chaos" blitzing. I wonder, if Troy is "traditional" who will be that "chaos" guy.

I just want him to stay healthy! People give him crap about not being the player he once was, but he's still better than 95% of the safties in the league. We need him.

I would like a more traditional safety role as well. Let Timmons have some of the reign on defense.

My opinion is that some of the times he was exposed, was due to the defense that was called. Lebaeu should know what he can and cant get away with. I love coach but his days should be numbered. Dick was outcoached in the Denver game last year. The whole Tebow running the ball thing, he got sucked right in!
