Question Candidates for open spot once DeCastro goes on IR?

As Ed Bouchette points out on Twitter, the Steelers will place David DeCastro on IR on Monday. At that point they will bring somebody back that was cut or sign a player outside of the team.

There are several ways they could go with it but Trai Essex would be a logical option.

Maybe the sign a LB? That would greatly depend on how ready they think Harrison, Worilds, and Sylvester will be to start the season.

WR - Gilreath or Williams could come back and they could carry 5 after all.

The injury to Decastro has taken a lot of my early gusto away. I'm really, really concerned about the O-line play right now.
So frustrated with injuries all the freakin time to our O-line. Like we are running in mud. Scared to death of Ben's welfare too.
The Steeler way...is the only way.

DeCastro can be activated after 8 weeks, so with the early bye-week, he couldn't technically only miss 7 games.

I really think Haley's "quick pass" offense is going help negate the short-comings of the line.

4 WR's doesn't scare me at all. I can see Rainey taking on a similar role as Dexter McCluster has with KC. Rainey could almost be a McCluster clone. And honestly how many carries will Rainey get? He'll be the returner plus the 5th man in with an empty backfield.

And just for shits and giggles, Greg Lloyds son got cut from Indy. It would be kind of cool to see him wearing Black and Gold.

We will have 2 spots, DeCastro and Saunders. Although temporary, they will probably bring Ryan Lee back and perhaps Williams.

Maybe the best ST player down on the PS would contribute the most to winning games. The Steelers are a bit thin at ILB. How did that McFadden do. Did he play ST in the pre? That's my guess.
