Tomlin to Rainey: Show me something in the return game.....Mission Accomplished

So Mike Tomlin wasn't happy with the return game this preseason, we all know that. He tells Chris Rainey that he needs to show him something tonight. I'd say he showed him something and then some. Even if both returns were called back for penalties, Rainey goes 78 and 90 yds. You can't ask for much more at this point.

So yeah like some others said earlier in another thread...the return game, ball carrier, isn't much of a concern anymore. Just clean up the penalties.

If you watched those plays by Rainey, he showed some serious balance and agility, breaking tackles before taking off.

Dwyer needs to start, Rainey needs to get many touches.

    I concur.

I'd love for the SP teams to score atleast 3-4 TD's this season. With Rainey giving us good field position the majority of the time.

You can argue that if those holding blocks don't happen he doesn't get the TD's, but who's to say. Doesn't take away from the serious return skills he showed tonight. I like the vision especially in finding the hole and not giving up.

The fact that there were holds shouldn't make anyone less excited. The vision, the open field moves and the broken tackles have nothing to do with a hold.

No question. I don't see how you start Redman over Dwyer.

IMO Dwyer earned it, Red shouldn't have it just handed to him because he's "next in line".. F that!

I'm excited to see what Rainey can do when it counts, with a group of special teamers who are making their living in that role. It won't be a bunch of backups all filling in, people running everywhere. The competition will be tougher but with that speed and quickness you can't help but be stoked.

I just could not believe that Rainey was able to take back 2 punts for touchdowns last night. That was just electrifying to watch. I forgot that it was preseason for a second.

I don't care about the penalties, this kid is just Don't bother moving cuz I'm already by ya fast.

He was asked about it after the game, where he got that amazing balance from and he said it's a natural gift. Whatever or wherever he got it, love this kid!
