you guess they havent improved? based on that? the super simple coverage schemes they were running like they always do in the preseason. As far as scheming the preseason doesnt indicate much, but most of all with the defensive backfield

The secondaries problem has always been going down the middle. I get that there are going to be holes somewhere in the secondary on every play, but a QB should not be able to find a wide open receiver right in the middle of the field on every single down.

Both Batches may not make the team. Barron didn't impress and J. Johnson may have sealed the number 3 slot at QB.

Jason Ford showed a little promise, with what little time he has been with the team. I would like to see him get some carries next week earlier in the game.

I'd be very surprised if Charlie Batch got cut. Though unexciting as a QB, seems he's always been a security blanket for Tomlin. Is Mike ready to let go? Next game will be crucial test for Jerrod Johnson to see if he can secure #3 spot behind Leftwich..

The running back spot was a big question mark a couple weeks ago with the injuries but now has become a strong spot, at least I think so. Batch, Rainey, and Ford all battling it out for maybe 2 roster spots at best? Should be fun these next two weeks.


Cortez Allen continues to impress in his coverages, he had another decent game last night. I think it's between him and Keenan Lewis right now with cortez maybe still with a slight lead.

I'd tend to agree with you on this one if for no other reason than he's an interesting back with a skill set that the Steelers really have not had since Willie Parker. This kid is even faster than Parker was before his knee injury and he's good out of the backfield.

No question. I was a huge Willie Parker fan but Rainey can do a lot more than he ever could. I'm not saying as a feature back... But anytime Willie Parker tried to make a move and break a defenders ankles, he'd end up breaking his own lol.
