Spence has more upside than Sly. This may be a blessing in disguise.

I like both Spence and Sly, each has a bit of a different game. Spence is more speed and quickness where Sly can play with a bit more power. The x factor in all of this is Brandon Johnson. If he makes the team, and then you already have Larry Foote and Lawrence Timmons who will make it, that only leaves 1 more roster spot for a backup ILB unless they carry an extra.

That means either Spence or Sly could be out the door. Neither would last on the PS though that's for sure.

I'm not worried about Foote in the regular season, last year he was the one that helped out more in pass coverage situations than Farrior did. Preseason these guys never go full speed. He's an older vet but I think he'll do ok.

As for Sly, this is a big year for him now in his 3rd season, time to see what he can or can't do.
