The cap isn't going to be as big of an issue in 2014 when the TV money starts coming in and the ceiling is raised somewhat significantly. If he stays healthy all this year he'll be back, there's nobody behind him yet that has shown they can step up. The Steelers always keep good linebackers in reserve or draft them to take over. Worilds was supposed to be that guy but he's not shown enough yet by any stretch.
If he misses significant time this year again though, watch for them to go outside linebacker early in the draft next year. Hell I'd do it either way honestly.
Ed Bouchette tweeted out this morning that Harrison is in Pittsburgh having his knee looked at. Perhaps we'll know more about if and when surgery is going to take place here pretty soon.
Looks like he had the surgery this morning. Bouchette tweeted out this afternoon that he had it done and then AlbyOx tweeted out the following.
@albyox:
James Harrison's surgery wasn't unexpected. His agent, Bill Parise, tells me it was a "possibility" all along. No update on the surgery.
@EdBouchette: #Steelers LB James Harrison had scope on his left knee this morning and it "went well,'' according to one source.
Should be surprised by the "it went well" statement? Does it ever go any other way? LOL
Bouchette reported that he "should" be ready by week one....no one has answered why the wait???
The Tradition Continues!!!
At least it is done. I think Harrison is going to be a beast this year.
