Antonio Browns contract talks before Wallace's deal?

After the practice on Thursday evening Dale Loley commented that the Steelers could bring in a veteran WR to replace Wallace and in the process perhaps spur him into getting to camp quicker.

@ Don't be surprised if the Steelers bring in a veteran wide receiver or two for workouts in an effort to scare Mike Wallace into camp - Plaxico Burress anyone?

The team could also open negotiations with the agent of wide receiver Antonio Brown.

I'm not saying this is going to happen or that it necessarily should happen but could you imagine if the team announces that they are in contract talks with Browns agent before Wallace even gets to camp? Or better yet, if Wallace reports and the Steelers still keep the talks going and actually reached a new deal with Brown before Mikey W. got his? LOL

lol i couldnt imagine what wallace would do if they resigned brown, brought in a WR like plax or edwards, and lowered his tender to 500k (which theyve been able to do since june 15)

that all would just never happen, but it would be a crazy move

It's a move unlike the Steelers but then again they don't normally have players "hold out"... We shall see!

I kinda hope they do bring in someone! While our wide WR corp has promise, we're talking about praying Sanders stays healthy for the first time in his career! If he goes down (assuming Wallace holds out til week 10) We got AB, Cotchery, Rookie, Undrafted FA Rookie... thats scary!

Sanders is hardly lacking experience. He played in the final 13 games of his rookie season plus the playoffs and SB. Everyone complains about his health last year but he didn't miss any game time until week 9 with a knee injury and then followed it up with the sudden death of his mother. All told he missed 5 games last year. Just about every team in the league would gladly take Brown, Sanders, and Cotchery as 1-3 receiving corps.

I hope they do open talks with AB. I love his attitude and work ethic.

As far as signing another WR, I think we have plenty now, but if we can get Plex at league min? Who knows.

    How about inviting Hines back?
