I do not understand why, but you seem to think that the players owe the team far more loyalty than they do. They get 1-2 big contracts and a guy trying to get as much as he can in order to set his family up for life is not only acceptable, but praiseworthy.
And I wonder if your standards of "team loyalty" apply to the franchise as well. I LOVE the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Rooneys. However, they are cold businessmen. When you are no longer of use to them, you are gone. One only has to look at Farrior and Ward, two players who were great Steelers and would have loved to play this year, to see that. Wallace has to take care of his family NOW because you are not promised a tomorrow in the NFL.
