I'm almost as happy about this as I was when the Steelers drafted DeCastro!
... Jets fan here ...
... sounds like you all think Scott is very bad ...
... any particular areas that he was really weak in? ...
... i ask because our RT Wayne Hunter is very bad in pass protection ... a couple times a game he gets completely fooled and caused Sanchez to get creamed many times last season ... he has a slow first step and he wasn't able to stay step for step with the speed rushers ... i'd probably say he's borderline below average/average as a run blocker ...
... if money wasn't needed for Wallace would you liked to have kept Scott? ... do you think Scott would be even a slight improvement for us from one of the worst starting RT's last year? ... finally, do you think other teams would be willing to offer similar $$$ to what you guys were going to pay him ... or do you think we may be able to sign him for a vet minimum salary? ...
... i appreciate any reply ...

Any articular areas that Scott is weak in? Hmmm... Let's see. Saying he's a weak pass protector is being very generous. He was damn near pathetic as a run blocker, and his awareness of what goes on, on the field, is practically non existent. I honestly dont see any reason to believe that Scott would be an upgrade over Hunter. Pro Football Focus has some interesting stats on pass blocking efficiency in 2011:
http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog...nsive-tackles/
There were only 5 tackles that ranked lower in Pass blocking efficiency in 2011 than Jonathan Scott. While Hunter wasn't very good either, he was still ranked 9 spots higher than Scott.
Trust me, you don't want to see Jonathan Scott in the Jets lineup.
he looked marginally servicable at RT in spot duty, a good backup but a lower level starting RT for for sure
