i could see batch and rainey both making it
If Batch comes back to full health and looks great, and Rainy is everything we thought he'd be, and we can't keep both, so maybe then we'll have the chance down the way to trade one and pick up a pick or a player in an area of need.
The Steeler way...is the only way.
if batch ever plays a snap for the steelers he needs to make it happen this year, hes got the tools to be a good RB but we have seen nothing from him so far and theres too much competition at a somewhat expendable position he would be a victim of a numbers game. rainey will likely make the team as a specialist, i see him as a KR/PR/RB/WR in haleys offense, i think he makes the team regardless, haley LOVES a mismatch player like him
All I ever see Dwyer do is get huge chunks of yards..lol. he didn't even start and ran for over 100 yards. I love Redman also he is a pounder. It would be nice to see what our running backs can do if the do not get hit or have to adjust there runs in the backfield this year..lol. Mendenhall clean through a hole would rush for 1500 yards easy..
Dwyer has shown in a small amount of play that he can be a starter...
Batch is an unknown.. does he fumble in the nfl? Can he read the nfl blitzes.??
Redman has most things down, but if he is a full time back, does he fumble more when starting and getting tired?
Dwyer i think will take over..
Mendenhall begins the season on PUP......Redman, Dwyer, Batch, Rainey.....I think all four make the team....Now when Rashard is ready then one will have to go........
Ssssssssh..you guys are going to alert the rest of the league to our team. Keep it quiet please.![]()
The Steeler way...is the only way.
it really depends i think. if batch can play on ST like carey davis, gary russell and that bum frank summers he could still find a spot. and rainey could b ea primary returner and a 5th/6th WR...its not quite as cut and dry as keeping too many running backs, i would imagine one of them would be inactive once mendenhall comes back, but they couild find a role nonetheless.
i honestly dont know what to think about batch, he just5 didnt run the ball much at TT and we havent seen him yet. hes got a good attitude and good measurables but who really knows.
This running back battle in training camp is going to be something to watch. I agree it's not going to be as cut and dry as keeping x number of backs. If the coaches don't want Antonio Brown returning kicks as much then Sanders will be the main guy and having someone like Rainey there as an extra option could be his ticket to making the team if Batch impresses. Either way someone is going to be inactive but still hold a roster spot when Mendenhall comes back.
I don't think Batch is that small. He can be more than a third down back.
Did Rainey have problems holding onto the rock at Florida?
