Exclamation Free agent K Danny Hrapmann signs with Steelers

Former Holy Cross and Southern Mississippi kicker Danny Hrapmann has signed a free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In his career at USM, Hrapmann made 116-of-117 extra points and connected on 49-of-65 field goals (75%), scoring 263 points.

In 2011, Hrapmann was 61-of-62 on extra points and made 23-of-34 field goals for the Golden Eagles.

Hrapmann started his college career at Southeastern Louisiana in 2007 before transferring to Southern Miss.

The 5'9, 164" Hrapmann enjoyed a stellar career under Barry Wilson at Holy Cross. He was a two-time All-District 8-5A selection and was named to the New Orleans All-Metro and the 5A All-State team with the Tigers.

This guy is another small weak kicker.... His field goal attempts look like a average passer...

Here is Carson Wiggs.. We needed a 6'1 222 kicker. i cant believe we let him go by us...

Pre-2011: Hit 67-yard field goal in Purdue's 2011 spring game. 2010: Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Coaches, Media) .... Made 15 fof 19 on field goal attempts (5-6 from 40-plus yards away) with a long of 52 yards … Perfect 27 of 27 on PATs … Hit his last eight straight field goal tries … Averaged 65.2 yards per kickoff attempt (11 touchbacks in 54 attempts) to help the Boilermakers lead the Big Ten in kickoff coverage. 2009: Lou Groza Award watch list … honorable mention All-Big Ten by coaches and media … Purdue's co-Special Teams MVP (also Robert Maci) … appeared in all 12 games … made 14 of 21 field goal attempts (8-14 from 40-plus yards away) … connected on 40 of 41 PAT attempts … averaged 63.4 yards on 63 kickoffs, including five touchbacks … averaged 36.5 yards on four punts, including a touchback and a long of 51 yards … broke own school record with 59-yard field goal vs. Toledo, the nation's longest field goal of the season … named Star of the Week by Lou Groza Award and Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking four field goals vs. Ohio State (27, 32, 49 and 55 yards).

This signing should make Swisham look pretty good.

Nothing to see here ...move along. Just a another competition kicker to , well, bring in competition. Suisham might not be a world beater but the Steelers havn't brought in another to create a legit threat, yet.
