Question Will Tomlin use the TE more?

Koopa brought up a point about Heath in another thread and it got me thinking. Cowher, no matter how much talent he had at TE with Bruener and now Heath Miller, never used the TE to their full potential in the passing game yet everytime they touch the ball its money !

How much will Tomlin actually take advantage of a weapon like Heath? I would hope he takes full advantage of him. This guy can be HUGE for us week in and week out.

I mentioned that too in the other thread, Why don't they just hire Koopa as the QB coach and tell Ben to throw the damn ball to Heath. LMAO.

Good God, Koopa as a coach? !! Talk about a power trip going out of control !

I really think Heath is a top 5 TE in this league easily if he is used correctly.

Hasn't this question been asked since the 1970's? Its seems like every year the quesiton is asked will the Steelers throw to the TE more.lol I know Eric Green had some really good years for the Steelers in the early 1990's but other then that the TE is just an extra blocker for the running game.

As for Tomlin and the TE. Maybe we should ask will Arians use the TE more since he is the OC and is really the one that will come up with the game plans. I think Heath Miller can be a huge weapon for Ben. I guess we just have to hope that Tomlin/Arians will wake the hell up and know that they have a TE that could be huge in the passing game.

There is no reason why Miller should not be mentioned with the likes of Shocky, Gates and Crumpler. He was a dangerous weapon at Virginia and so far he has been a waste of talent with us. I hope he finally gets the chance to show us his receiving skills with our new coach. You would of thought with Whiz being an ex-TE he would of had alot more plays to Miller the last few years.

That's one of the things that makes it so interesting is that since the 70's we've only had 2 coaches and neither of them used the TE much. So is Tomlin going to break the mold and use this wicked weapon that's money in the bank every time he touches the ball? or will he follow suit and Heath goes through is Steeler career with less than 30 catches a season and a few TD's.

Hey Top lets email Tomlin on a dailey basis stating throw the ball to Heath. Maybe that will do the trick?

If we don't beef up the offensive line you can bet that Heath Miller will be left in to block more often than not. That is what happened this past year! We couldn't protect Ben with our front five so we had to put in max protection packages. I wouldn't be upset if we took an OL like Levi Brown or Joe Staley in the first round and Ryan Kalil C in the second. Tony Hunt or Michael Bush in the third and a DE or OLB in the fourth. All I know is this, against the better defenses this past year our O-line was manhandled like they were a pop warner unit. San Diego's Jamal Williams threw Jeff Hartings around like a limp ragdoll and I don't even want to describe what the Ravens did to our O-line TWICE Things were not much better with the Jags. Defending superbowl champs SHUT OUT! EMBARASSING! Even Alan Faneca is going into his 10th year and he is our Pro-Bowler. We have to address the O-line NOW! Hartings should retire. An O-line that is soft up the middle is not going to enjoy much success.

It would be nice to Miller get used a little more. The TE can always be that secrect weapon that helps win ball games. IMO Miller has the potential to be on the greats with Gonzales and Gates but he's never quite been used like they have. Only time will tell though how Tomlin intends to use Miller and hopefully it's in a positive way!
