New Steelers Throwback uniforms unveiled on April 17th - Pics included

Is it just me, or has anyone else out there dreaded Steeler games where the team trots onto the field with yeller hats and white tights? For me part of the Steeler mystique has always been that a man with a black helmet is about to knock you into Tuesday. Let's hope that the new Throwback uni retains at least a modicum of the notorious Steeler intimidation factor.
And while I'm at it, how friggin' long is this October pink-wearing fad going to last? I mean, enough is enough.

Update 4-19: After a couple days of mulling these unis over, while I still do not like the choice, I still see them as a good improvement over the white stretch pants and yellow helmets of 2011. Black traditional Steeler helmet is now part of throwback uni. Also, prison stripes will give broadcasters many opportunities for funny comments: "It's a jail break as Harrison and Woodley smother Flacco!," etc.

Actually some of the hardest hits in recent memory have been in the throwbacks (Harrison on Cribs and Massaquoi in 2009, then again Harrison on McCoy last year). I personally like the throwbacks, but hey everyone has their own tastes.

I would like to see the white jerseys with the white pants from the late '60's. It wouldjust be something totally different as opposed to the last few throwbacks.

I don't mind the throw backs honestly. Yeah they were a bit on the boring side but I think generally the throwbacks bring out the extra fire in the team. You see a ton of hard hitting games with those uni's on like Snake Eyes mentioned.

I'm kind of anxious, and scared, to see what they come up with for the throwbacks..LOL

COMPLETELY agree with this! I also appreciate history and love seeing the throwbacks every now and then... I like it with the rivalry games, etc...

Green Bay's kinda sucks too. I like most of the throwbacks better than current unis.
