Here's another good question. With the money issues the Steelers are having why would they keep Hampton with all his issues with the huge price tag? I think Colbert is having a flashback to the GM of the early 80's. Keep the old guy who might be able to play at a good enough level for this year, while risk losing an important piece to the offense.

This thread is depressing. I was looking forward to revamping the O-Line the next couple of years but you guys have me thinking about all of the positions on D that are gonna have to be replaced pretty soon. Man, Troy is gonna be hard to replace. As for Hampton, he needs to go. That's a buttload of money for someone who's never on the field.

Colbert is a master of the players and the draft... We have had only one pick for 6 years running mostly under #25 in the draft in round one.

The browns, bengals, pats. Have multiple firsts high picks.... Ravens Sign free agents...

We expect to keep up with these teams.?? We trade for crap. Eventually time will hit us.. And we are always out of money..

Something has to give right? It is confusing... We drafted 8 cb's recently.. we could have drafted 4 more OL, K,QB,S,ILB went FA for one good CB.. It is frustrating.

I think Safety is really the only position in the next couple of years that will be paramount other than NT. Overall the DL has good young talent and the linebacking starters should be fine for the time being based on what happens this year.

It's going to suck trying to replace both Polamalu and Clark right around the same time though, no doubt about it.
