Early on, I thought the line was doing exactly what it needed to do because Ben was looking for shorter, quicker routes. Seemed to me as soon as BA completely stopped running the ball was when we got into trouble because the Niners could just pin their ears back.

I don't completely blame the o-line. There was a personnel shuffle thanks to injury, the game plan went pass happy once the team got down and Roethlisberger was about as mobile as Mount Rushmore out there. That is a lot to ask an o-line to deal with.

I really wish they would have put Dixon in there. He couldn't have played worse than Roethlisberger, but he has escapability.

If you go by Tomlin's "the standard is the standard" then these guys were so far below the standard they couldn't see it with the Hubble telescope! I agree the game plan was total crap given Roethlisbergers lack of mobility but my goodness at least block somebody some of the time. The Smith brothers were all over Max Starks like he was the rookie; no doubt his worst game since his return this season.

Foster and Gilbert weren't all that bad but they were hardly stellar. If this team doesn't get Pouncey back it's only going to get worse. If that means resting him this week to get him healthy for the post season then so be it.

"The standard is the standard" is such a load of crap. Might as well keep saying "they are who we thought they were". lol

If you don’t stand behind our troops.....Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

"They say that when you're the champs, everybody will try to beat you. Well, I'm glad we're the champs, so bring 'em on, bring 'em all on. If we die, we ain't gonna die running. It's gonna be a fight."

The stunt they repeatedly ran last night was similar to the one the Ravens run against the steelers all the time and they couldn't stop it then either.

They didn't lose a nailbiter, they got whooped. Time to move on to the Rams.

In theory it's a good way to go about things, and the players do buy into it I'll give them that. If you start making excuses for backups not being able to perform then you have a serious issue with not only your backups but the coaches philosophy on how to run a team. You have to hold these guys to the same standard and make them accountable for the roster spot they hold and the money they make.

I think one thing the Steelers don't usually do as well as other teams is trying to minimize the weakness that is apparent when a backup comes in. When you have an offensive line in shambles with injuries so often why on God's green earth aren't you doing things to minimize that impact. It's not easy I'll give you that just based on the nature of the position, but also not impossible. Run the no huddle more often, run plays that offer the QB a quick drop and shot passes to get the ball out so the guys don't have to block as long. They do it now and then but they never stick with it. That drives me banana's, they find something that works and keeps Ben from getting killed yet you don't stick with it. It's that type of stubborn, tunnel vision, that drives the Steeler Nation crazy.
