Rashard does what he does; one series he's absolutely running his tail off, dragging defenders and hitting the hole with authority. The next series he's dancing around contemplating the meaning of life before he decides to run.
You can't blame him for the those 4 straight runs; the offensive line got no push at all and Arians choose to run at the exact same spot every time. You can blame Ben for the audible out of the pass play on 3rd down if you want and you'd be right.
In most situations you figure Ben is going to roll out there or atleast try and throw a fade to Wallace for example or find Heath in the back of the endzone. Given the fact that Ben couldn't scramble the Browns just crashed the middle of the line with everything they had. In that situation why not let a TE like Saunders or maybe a Tackle eligible sneak outside for an easy TD pass.
The problem with Mendnehall is what we always say about him. In the end he still doesn't run with his head down, he never does with any consistentcy. It's a star driven league and Tomlin wants to leave him in to let him get the TD. It is what it is, we've seen this time after time after time.
You're short yardage specialist who is money literally 99-100 times out of hundred yet you refuse to put him in on situations inside the redzone to get a score.
I know that the unlucky goaline stand was bad, but otherwise... i saw my man
Rashard go off lastnight!!! no dancin' just clean hard runnin!!!!!!
BTW that hit by 51 on browns was definatley helmet to helmet![]()
3 shots from the goalline and couldn't score.
Cleveland Browns suck!
The offensive line did very little at the goal line. At best, they hold their ground. Rarely if ever do they blow the defense back. I don't blame that all on Mendenhall.
I dont know what in the blue hell Tomlin was thinking not using Redman at least 1 time from inside the 1 yard line seeing how well he pushes the pile and keeps his legs moving. It was an insanely stupid stupid move on the part of BA and Tomlin not going to Redman in that situation and it almost costs them the game...
Yeah, for once I can't really bitch around Mendenhall. He was the reason the offense didn't come to a complete stand still after Ben was hurt. Like I said, you can't blame him for inept playcalling and the offensive line not getting any push. He's not Jerome Bettis. He's not gonna push the pile to get that extra yard. Would you send Darren Sproles in to run up the gut at a goal line situation? No.
Why do the packers use Raji at that point?
We should use Johnson, Redman.... Legs, Redman.
How about McClendon, Redman.
