There's apparently at some point in the past, according to Deshea Townsend, an epic fight that went down on the practice field wherein Hoke got cold cocked..LOL. We don't know the particulars but it's funny to think of such a happy go lucky guy actually raising the ire of a teammate that much.

Going forward though, you wonder how well McLendon will handle life on the field without his buddy on the sidelines. He was very emotional in talking about how much he misses Hokie already.

He has always been a great player to have on the roster. Always plays well when called upon and has really helped this team out. It is a shame if this is how he goes out, but he has been an asset for quite a while. I wish him the best.

Consummate pro, man of class and integrity, but now it is time to think about life and the quality of life after football.

Very sad to hear. Hope he makes a full recovery and is able to have a normal retirement.

I wonder if this makes Hampton's return any more likely next year.

Wow, I sure hate to hear this--we never missed a beat with Chris fillin' in for Casey. All best wishes to you, and a speedy recovery!
