Louis Lipps
In his first season, Lipps broke the National Football League record for punt return yardage by a rookie with 656 yards. Louis returned one punt for a touchdown and also caught 45 passes for 860 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. He was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year at season's end and was also named to the AFC Pro Bowl team for that year.

ben didnt really do much his rookie year, he was "great" the same way andy dalton has been "great" only he was on a much better team
Franco Harris rushed for 1055 yards as a rookie and scored 11 total TDs!

Mean Joe Greene hands down. No Steeler rookie ever made an impact on the team like he did. Louis Lipps would be my #2 guy.

is a VERY tough call to make in my book. i think its either joe green or jack lambert. i would say it was joe but the steelers didnt really start winning till lambert hit the scene. he was the catalyst. joe made the line great and forced double and triple teams which opened the holes that allowed lambert to cause meyhem. apart they would have been very, very good. together they were truly great. i just cant pick. i will however vote for them to be the greatest tandem of players in nfl history. even over montana/rice. but im a defense guy and quite possibly biased so i guess that could be argued.
Another person, even though they weren't a Steeler as a rookie, was Jerome Bettis. The majority of his production and notoriety came as a Steeler but his rookie year with the Rams he had 294 rushes, 1429 yds, and 7 TD's. He also had 26 receptions for 244 yds.
